Celebrating 60 Years of Social Security Disability Insurance

Sixty years ago, in August of 1956, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the Social Security Disability (SSDI) program into law, with the hopes that it would advance the economic security of the American people. Since the law began, SSDI has provided workers with disabilities the necessary protection to keep their families afloat.

Although public polls show that Americans report strong support for Social Security programs, the support is not always reflected in the legislative process. In reality, Social Security is an important public structure, much like highways and water systems. You can do your part to help educate the public about this importance of Social Security programs by sharing social posts from the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR).

Kevin F. McCane and J. Kevin Daly are both members of NOSSCR. If you or a loved one need help with a disability claim, contact EMD Law for a free consultation with our knowledgeable attorneys.
